CS Energy steps up for casual contractors

15 Apr 2020

CS Energy has stepped up for our casual contractor workforce and guaranteed wages if they get coronavirus or have to self-isolate.

CS Energy Executive General Manager Plant Operations Leigh Amos said the guarantee covered casual contractors who worked at CS Energy’s power stations and Brisbane corporate office.

“CS Energy’s highest priority is the health and safety of everyone at our sites – both employees and contractors,” Mr Amos said.

“Casual contractors are not our employees, but we value their work.

“While many of our casual contractors’ employers have paid leave provisions in place for COVID-19, others do not.”

CS Energy will provide paid leave for casual contractors if they contract COVID-19 or are required to self-isolate.

“This guarantee of paid leave should ease the financial burden of everyday living expenses for casual contractors if they are unable to work due to COVID-19,” Mr Amos said.

CS Energy employs casual contractors in fields such as procurement, warehousing and cleaning.
