New PPA expands CS Energy’s renewables portfolio

22 Oct 2020

CS Energy has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with global renewable energy company BayWA r.e. for a portion of the electricity and Large Generation Certificates (LGCs) from its Hughenden Solar Farm.

The 20 megawatt Hughenden Solar Farm is located on the outskirts of Hughenden in North West Queensland and has been operational since 2018.

CS Energy CEO Andrew Bills said CS Energy would supply the renewable energy to its large commercial and industrial customers in Queensland.

“CS Energy is proud to provide our customers with renewable energy firmed by our thermal generation assets,” Mr Bills said.

This announcement marks the continued growth of CS Energy’s renewable offtakes portfolio, following the addition of more than 200 MW in FY2020.

“CS Energy’s mixed portfolio positions us well in the market as customers seek to reduce their carbon footprint with firmed, cost-effective energy.”
