CS Energy and contractors Downer, Siemens and Intertek have thrown their support behind local drought affected farmers by raising more than $10,400 for the Chinchilla based charity Drought Angels.
The funds were raised at a recent whole of site BBQ for the workforce at the major overhaul currently underway at CS Energy’s Kogan Creek Power Station near Chinchilla.
Workers from CS Energy, Downer, Siemens and Intertek teams dug deep to raise more than $3,000 for Drought Angels. Each business matched their employee donations to bring the total funds raised to more than $10,400.
Kogan Creek Power Station General Manager Phil Matha said the donation was a team effort.
“Thank you to Kogan Creek overhaul principal contractors Downer, Siemens and Intertek and all of the overhaul staff and subcontractors for coming on board and donating so generously.
“This is a fantastic result that will support farmers in our regional communities,” Mr Matha said.

Drought Angels Operations Manager Jenny Gailey thanked the four companies and their workforces for their generosity.
“This current drought is really hitting hard,” Ms Gailey said. “Over the past year the number of farmers Drought Angels supports has grown to over 4,000, which certainly shows the impact the drought is having.
“This donation from CS Energy, Downer, Siemens and Intertek is going to be such a huge boost to our farming families.”
