Donation keeps the wheels turning for homeless support

29 Apr 2019

CS Energy has given homeless support services in Biloela a boost by donating $2,500 to the Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation and Support Centre to purchase a new trailer.

Centre Manager Mark Warnick said the purpose-built trailer enabled Centre staff to safely and efficiently move furniture and white goods for people in need.

“The Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation and Support Centre provides a valuable service to vulnerable people in the local community,” Mr Warnick said.

“Previously we used one of our staff member’s personal vehicles, so we appreciate CS Energy’s financial support to purchase this new trailer.”

CS Energy Head of Corporate Affairs Nev Conway stopped by the Centre recently to see the trailer and learn more about their services such as crisis accommodation, and domestic and family violence support.

“CS Energy is proud to support the local communities in which we work,” Mr Conway said. “We trust this donation will allow the Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation and Support Centre to continue delivering vital services to the people of Banana Shire.”

The Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation and Support Centre is a local provider of services to the homeless and other vulnerable people in the community. It receives funding from the Department of Housing and Public Works, and Domestic Violence and Court Support programs funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
