CS Energy’s community sponsorships program has supported more than 100 community groups and not-for-profit organisations.
Each year we receive many worthy applications from our local communities. We work closely with our power station managers to select the projects that we think are going to have a long-lasting, positive impact on the local community.
Below are profiles of several recent recipients, along with a full list of previous recipients since the program began in 2018.
Biloela Community Garden
CS Energy played an important role in the set-up for the Biloela Community Garden through its Community Sponsorships. Funding from a successful sponsorship application enabled the Arts House committee to purchase waterwise garden beds. The community garden was given another boost from CS Energy with funds to purchase and install a rainwater tank and pump. Helping drought-proof the garden and making life easier for the volunteers will help the garden flourish.
Biloela Netball Association
When the Biloela Netball Association decided to tap into a CS Energy Community Sponsorship Grant back in 2020, they had something cool in mind. Cool water! The Netball Association was sadly lacking a water bubbler, having to access taps in the toilet block when parched players needed to refill their water bottles. Thanks to the CS Energy grant, the Association was able to install a fantastic water bubbler, with chilled, filtered water available 24/7.
Hannaford State School
Hannaford State School is a one-class school in the Western Downs with an enrolment of 18 students. A recipient in Round 10 of CS Energy's Community Sponsorship program, the school invested in a water harvesting hydroponic gardening sustainability project. The set up includes two 22,500 litre tanks, which will capture rain water and help the school with its goals in managing water conservation.
