Health and wellbeing

We want our employees to be healthy, engaged, and positive at work. We provide a range of optional initiatives and programs to help our people pursue a healthy, happy lifestyle.

In addition, we expect our employees to show up fit for duty – whether on site, or in the office.

Fit for duty

Our fit for duty system manages safety risks relating to alcohol and other drugs and fatigue. It aims to ensure no one on site poses an unacceptable safety risk to themselves or others. This applies to employees, contractors and visitors.

We conduct random drug and alcohol testing at all of our sites and have procedures to prevent fatigue.

Health at work and home

CS Energy offers a number of programs to help employees manage their health and wellbeing, including:

  • Confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Program.
  • Mates in Energy suicide prevention training.
  • Annual flu vaccinations.
  • Skin health checks.
  • Monthly healthy lifestyle tips.
  • Desktop ergonomic assessments and the option to use standing desks.

Mates in Energy

We’ve partnered with suicide prevention charity Mates in Energy (MIE) to provide our people the skills and tools to help themselves and their colleagues.

CS Energy is proud to be an industry partner of MATES in Energy, the energy industry arm of the MATES not-for-profit organisation.

We are 100 percent behind the MATES in Energy approach: mates helping mates to help solve a massive problem in Australian society – suicide and mental health.

We have ‘Connectors’ at CS Energy – employees trained to keep someone safe while connecting them to professional help.
