CS Energy’s core business is the generation and sale of electricity in the National Electricity Market (NEM) where we have a trading portfolio of 3,535 megawatts.
We’re a major provider of energy to Australian households and businesses, dispatching more than 30 percent of Queensland’s electricity, and more than 10 percent in the NEM. We’re constantly looking for ways to deliver value for our shareholders and customers through an approach that balances safety, environment and commercial obligations.
CS Energy operates the Kogan Creek and Callide power stations, and we’re a party to an agreement that allows us to trade energy generated by the Gladstone Power Station, in excess of the requirements of the Boyne Island aluminium smelter.
We're diversifying beyond our traditional business of thermal power generation into other parts of the energy value chain.
We have an offtake agreement with hybrid renewable energy project the Kennedy Energy Park and we are investigating other renewable energy offtake opportunities.
In the retail market, we have a 50/50 joint venture with Alinta Energy to supply electricity to customers in South East Queensland, and we also provide retail services to large commercial and industrial customers throughout Queensland.
Our coal assets are the Kogan Creek Mine, which supplies coal to the Kogan Creek Power Station, and the undeveloped Glen Wilga and Haystack Road coal resources near Chinchilla.
