What interested you about joining CS Energy’s retail team?

The CS Energy retail team has a great reputation within the industry. When I found out about the role, I knew I would be joining a team with integrity and passion for what they do. Whilst the team may be small for now, there is huge potential for growth. Being a part of that growth and having the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success was a very attractive offer.

Describe a typical workday for you at CS Energy.

My role is to assist in growing the retail business, so that could mean finding and talking to potential large C&I customers and finding ways CS Energy can assist them and their energy needs. This might include discussing how they can incorporate renewable energy from a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) into a retail offering or discussing demand side management.

There are Request for Pricing (RFPs) offers that I respond to, meeting with energy brokers to build better relationships and managing our current customer base. At the end of the day we are providing a service to our customers, and that service needs to be better than our competitors.

What do you like about working in the energy industry?

The energy industry is continually evolving and that is what makes it exciting for me. Whilst no one knows for sure what the energy landscape will look like in a decade’s time, it will surely involve a greater mix of renewables as Australia transitions to using more renewable energy. Being a part of this shift and helping retail customers achieve their sustainability goals by thinking outside the box is both challenging and rewarding.

What are CS Energy’s large C&I customers looking for in their retailer?

Retail customers are becoming increasingly savvier and know what they want in a retail agreement. Gone are the days when price alone reigned supreme. Customers want a retailer who can align energy procurement alongside their corporate strategy goals of ‘Net Zero Emissions’ or 100% renewables etc. They also want a retailer who can provide exceptional customer service and takes the time to understand their business and needs.
