Kogan Creek Power Station is the newest addition to CS Energy's diverse power portfolio.
Opened in late 2007, the coal-fired power station can generate up to 750 megawatts electricity, which is enough to power almost one million homes.
Located in the western Darling Downs near Chinchilla, Kogan Creek Power Station provides baseload electricity into the national grid via a 28 kilometre transmission line.
Kogan Creek Power Station sets new benchmarks for environmental performance and innovative design amongst coal-fired plants in Australia.
By using dry cooling technology, the power station uses 90 per cent less water than a conventional wet cooled power station. Its greenhouse profile is also a significant improvement on the national average.
The neighbouring Kogan Creek Mine fuels the power station and is also owned by CS Energy.
