Through its sponsorship program, CS Energy strives to be an active participant in each of the communities in which it operates.
Recent significant community partnerships include:
- Opera Queensland
Moving Opera! is a regional, school-based programme designed to introduce music students to opera and music theatre. Moving Opera! workshops have been conducted in Ipswich, Biloela, Mount Isa and Chinchilla, and CS Energy and Opera Queensland organise a range of activities to support this sponsorship, including the Overture to Opera public lecture, a beginner's guide to opera.
- Keep Australia Beautiful, Queensland
In partnership with Thiess Services, CS Energy supports KABQ to conduct a school environmental education programme, with students touring both the Swanbank Power Station and the adjacent Thiess Services Swanbank Landfill.
- Mount Isa Business Awards
CS Energy supports these awards as they provide a rare opportunity for the north west Queensland business community to come together and celebrate their achievements. CS Energy's Mica Creek Power Station near Mount Isa has sponsored the awards for the last three years.
- Boonah Shire Arts Festival
The Boonah Arts Festival encourages creativity and innovation in the regional community of Boonah. Through its sponsorship of the festival, CS Energy Swanbank Power Station has provided educational opportunities for students in the areas of electricity and trade skills.
At each power station we have a Community Relations programme, to keep our local communities informed on environmental and operational issues, and work together on community sponsorships.
