Environmental Management System

An environmental management system (EMS) is an efficient way of monitoring and managing our impact on the environment.

Our EMS meets the requirements of the international standard, ISO 14001, at all our power stations and in our corporate office.

We have integrated environmental management into all our processes including business development, power project delivery and power production.

As part of our EMS, we:

  • Identify environmental opportunities and issues, and track targets and actions against them
  • Take reasonable and practicable measures to protect the environment
  • Meet legal and other requirements that govern our activities
  • Monitor our emissions to the environment
  • Ensure we manage all our wastes correctly
  • Prevent contaminants entering our stormwater systems
  • Communicate with our stakeholders
  • Train all our people in relation to environmental risks and responsibilities.
  • Review the outcome of risk identification audits and ensure continual improvement in our environmental performance.

CS Energy has committed to the ESAA Code of Environmental Practice. The Code covers ‘best practice’ policy areas including Sustainable Development, Social Responsibility, Environmental Management and Resource Management.
