- About Us
CS Energy has comprehensive environmental monitoring and measurement schedules in place at each of our power stations. This provides data to ensure compliance limits are met and that any exceedances are reported to regulatory authorities.
We continually strive to ensure our power stations operate in compliance with relevant Queensland and Australian environmental legislation.
The primary laws governing our operations are Queensland’s Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Sustainable Planning Act 2009.
We regularly report to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection about our environmental activities and any incidents that could have an off-site impact. Each year, these incidents are included in our annual report.
All of our power stations and the Brisbane office operate within an Environmental Management System (EMS). Our EMS meets the requirements of the international environmental standard ISO 14001.
Our EMS is a tool for managing the impacts of CS Energy's activities on the environment. It provides a structured approach to planning and implementing environment protection measures.
The EMS monitors environmental performance and integrates environmental management into daily operations, long term planning and other quality management systems.
CS Energy stays current with the latest energy industry policy and practice through its membership of the Energy Supply Association of Australia.
