Asset portfolio

CS Energy's asset portfolio comprises power generation, trading rights and coal assets.

We own and operate the Callide B, Kogan Creek and Wivenhoe power stations, and have a 50 percent interest in the Callide C Power Station.

CS Energy is a party to the Interconnection and Power Pooling Agreement, which entitles us to trade the output of Gladstone Power Station in excess of the requirements of the Boyne Aluminium Smelter.

Together, these assets give CS Energy the ability to trade 4,035 megawatts in the national electricity market.

Coal assets in our portfolio are the Kogan Creek Mine, which supplies black coal to Kogan Creek Power Station, and the undeveloped Glen Wilga and Haystack Road coal resources near Chinchilla.

Kogan Creek Power Station was commissioned in 2007 and is one of the most efficient coal-fired power stations in Australia. CS Energy also owns the neighbouring Kogan Creek Mine, which provides black coal to fuel the power station.

The Callide site is made up of three power stations, with a combined capacity of 1,510 megawatts. Callide has a long history of providing reliable electricity into the national grid from the heart of Central Queensland.

Wivenhoe Power Station is on the only pumped storage hydroelectric plant in Queensland. This strategic asset in CS Energy's portfolio provides fast ramping capability.

Gladstone Power Station is located in Gladstone in central Queensland. CS Energy trades a portion of the output of the power station, which is operated and maintained by NRG Gladstone Operating Services.
