Moving Opera!

Schools in Chinchilla and Biloela are participants in the popular Moving Opera! program. Opera Queensland artists coach students in opera and musical theatre skills in an intensive five-day program. The week culminates in a community performance in front of family and friends to raise funds for their schools’ music departments.

Biloela Rockfest

Callide Power Station supported the Biloela Rockfest music festival, which showcases local music talent. In 2009, CS Energy sponsored a professional development workshop for local bands with Screamfeeder bass player Kellie Lloyd. The workshop was run free of charge to participants through Q Music and resulted in a CD of original music from the bands.

Energise Electrovale school competition

CS Energy’s pilot primary school program encouraged students to form teams of PIs – power investigators – to find energy sources for the fictional town of ‘Electrovale’.
