Swanbank E Power Station
Swanbank E Power Station is one of the most efficient and advanced gas-fired power stations in Australia.
The $300 million power station was commissioned in 2002 and supplies electricity to Australia’s national electricity market.
The power station revitalised the Swanbank site, replacing the older coal-fired Swanbank A, with an advanced gas-fired unit with lower emissions and increased efficiency and reliability.
Swanbank E produces 50 percent less greenhouse gas emissions than an average coal-fired plant, and uses only one quarter of the water.
With the addition of Swanbank E, CS Energy became the largest natural gas user in Queensland.
