CS Energy generates its income by selling electricity into the National Electricity Market (NEM) and to off-grid customers. Our NEM-connected power stations are Swanbank, Callide and Kogan Creek, while Mica Creek Power Station provides off-grid power.
We sell electricity two ways in the NEM – in the spot market, where prices are calculated every five minutes and settled half hourly, and in the contract market, where we enter into financial contracts that lock in a fixed price for electricity.
Off-grid, CS Energy sells electricity to local retailers and major industry customers.
